Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
In this ongoing book club camp, students will independently read one book a week in the Magic Tree House series then gather to discuss the plot, character motivations and behaviors, and fun puzzles with their favorite snack!

This book club motivates students to read all week long! Students will independently read the assigned book title each week (schedule below) outside of class. Class begins with a short warm-up to get everyone relaxed and in the space for sharing and listening. Everyone will share their snack choice of the day! Then, we have fun discussing the weekly assigned Magic Tree House book through multiple choice questions, putting together an order of events, and deeper theme critical thinking questions that will put your child in the shoes of the characters. The book club will end by sharing the following week's book club title and a plot prediction for said title. There will be a puzzle running through the class period and students will be able to guess a secret picture, which will be revealed at the end of class.

Upcoming Schedule (PST):

January 24th: #12 Polar Bears Past Bedtime
January 31st: #13 Vacation Under the Volcano
February 7th: #14 Day of the Dragon King
February 14th: #15 Viking Ships at Sunrise
February 21st: #16 Hour of the Olympics
February 28th: #17 Tonight on the Titanic

See you in book club (and don't forget your yummy snack!)

Love,
Teacher Bethanie
