😍 In this reading adventure Self Paced class, Dr. Ruth, Reading Specialist will be reading summarized and condensed versions of the five most popular Magic Tree House books. There will also be interesting historical information and worksheets provided in all the classes. The words being read will be shown so that the student can follow along with Dr Ruth and all her avatar friends and large puppets. Each week the learner will also be provided with a reading comprehension Q/A, T/F worksheet, and informative history PDFs. I also follow the concept of Montessori in that any additional materials that I send have no grading system and are self-grading. 

The age of the student will be no problem as long as the parent or caregiver feels that their child may benefit from the course. Any child of any age is welcome in my class.

Dr. Ruth will be available as needed in the message area and she will engage with the learners weekly with posts and short video clips. She will respond to any questions within 24 hrs. Her avatars will also chime in with a friendly "hello"! Learners will be able to interact with Dr. Ruth and peers through the posts or message area if they wish to do so.

👀 Note: The books have been condensed and we will not be reading the entire books like they are sold to the public as that would be tedious for the students. In this case, condensed means that I have made condensed short stories that contain the plot from beginning to end that have approximately 5-8 chapters for each book! I created this to introduce these popular books to those students who have never read the books or those who have read them and are curious about this class. This is also helpful for students who do not have the time to read these entire books as sold in online stores due to busy schedules. 

Hopefully, this will encourage students to read the entire book by themselves and create enthusiasm for reading books in general when they do have the time. 

Keep in mind that the condensed plots may vary a bit from the longer original books but they are stories nonetheless. Reading is fun for all in this self paced reading class full of adventures! Estimated completion time for all the classes is dependent on when the child views the videos and completes their worksheets (approximately 30 minutes to 1 hr per video and worksheets per short story).

😁This is a wonderful weekly reading club, story time & reading comprehension class. There will be a short video each week in which Dr. Ruth will read each condensed book adventure. She will highlight the words as they are read. Her friendly Avatar Professor Loo (with Dr. Ruth’s voice) will also join in for added fun. There will be a review of each book along with my brief lecture of the questions that are in the flipbook link that each learner will receive. There will be soft music in the background with lovely pictures to guide the reader along as Dr. Ruth highlights the words. This class will benefit students’ reading skills and curiosity about world history and the Magic Treehouse series of books that total over 30 adventure books and are New York Times bestsellers!

RULES PRIOR TO ENROLLING IN OUTSCHOOL CLASSES: No refunds once the class starts. Please read over the class description to make sure this class fits your child. Please be courteous and not enroll if you plan on canceling the class "just to test it out".  This is not permitted in Outschool classes. The teachers have made great effort in making the videos and worksheets. The classes are offered at a very low price so we encourage you to complete the classes once you have enrolled your learner and NOT cancel it. No adults are allowed to purchase this class for themselves as it is meant for a child to view that is at the appropriate age or developmental age level. Outschool has strict policies that an adult is not to purchase any classes for themselves.
