Magic Reading Introductory Lesson: Letter and Digraph Sound Review
Review of vowel sounds, consonants, and digraphs- ck,ch,sh,th & wh using visual, movement, tactile and auditory methods

Students will do a review of all consonant sounds, vowel sounds, and consonant digraphs (ch, th, sh, ck, wh). We will start with a call & repeat for each letter of the alphabet including a visual, then we will do the short vowel sounds using a tactile method. Next we will do the digraphs with visual and movement cues. We will end the class with a picture card assessment, "What letter sound does this word start with?" Students will be encouraged to interact with a grown-up to look at or a mirror, so they can see the shape of their mouth for each letter sound. I am upbeat and try to make the class fun. Because this class is designed for the very young and those with learning needs, I am very aware that some students may have additional needs. Feel free to message me with any special requests. This class will lead up to a future class on Short vowel sound words, or CVC words.
Learning Goals
The goal of this class is to review each consonant and vowel sound (including long & short vowels) and consonant digraphs.

Students should have access to a thick piece of fabric, felt is ideal.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
