Magic &Math! Exponents and Kaprekar Numbers 20+25

In this class, students will play with digits and numbers, explore patterns and describe the iterative process.

The formal math school curriculum is well-represented everywhere, but where is the recreative math, the just-for-fun math, the math that actually allows us to play with digits, to play with numbers , and to explore the patterns?
Well, I can guarantee you, it's for sure in this class :)  Class, full of digits peculiarities that will spark the learner's interest in numbers and patterns.


This lesson will help students learn and reinforce their math skills on:

- differentiating between the terms number and digit,
- subtracting with regrouping (at least 5 subtraction questions),
- place values and constructing different numbers from same digits,
- multiplying (one question on multiplying 1-digit by 1-digit, two questions on 2-digit by 2-digit and one question on 3-digit by 3-digit multiplication), 
- exponents and powers, i.e. powers of 2 and one question (if time allows) with power by 3, 
- recognizing and describing patterns, and finally, 
- processing the computational thinking and iterative process describing.


For their best experience, they should be:

- fluent in the times table, 
- familiar in multiplying 2-digit and 3-digit numbers, and 
- comfortable with sharing their answers.

 I would be happiest if they could participate during the class. Their answers will help me in deciding how far should I go with the patterns, and if need to go through some explanation additionally.
