Description

Class Experience

* Students will read and discuss Grade 3 appropriate informational texts
* Students will identify key details in articles
* Students will read grade-level vocabulary
* Students will identify nonfiction text features
* Students will use visuals to examine and analyze information (settings, events, characters, information)
* Students will identify the main idea and details of a text
* Students will compare and contrast two or more texts
* Students will identify and retell events and facts in a sequence
* Students will evaluate and discuss ideas encountered in texts
* Students will read grade-level sight words
* Students will write opinion pieces
Throughout the course, each class will require a 1 or 2-page handout, depending on the class. Students will need a pencil and possibly coloring utensils.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
