Class Experience

For younger students I have been able to use an amazing curriculum called the “Sing‘n Speak Spanish" to teach students to speak Spanish in a fun and creative way. This curriculum has been created by Julia Burnier. All rights for this program belong to Julia Burnier and the song rights for “Music That Teaches Spanish” belong to Patti Lozano. It was about 20 years ago that Julia Burnier came across the songs that Patti Lozano created. Julia liked Patti’s songs so much that she incorporated 3 of Patti's CD's into her Spanish curriculum. It couldn’t be a more perfect match. I've been using this curriculum for about 6 years in different private schools and now I have been given the opportunity to use it again for your children. This program is fun and interactive. We sing the songs use motions to reinforce the vocabulary. I have used this curriculum to teach Kindergarten through 8th grade. I am so excited to be able to use it again. We will be learning greetings, months of the year, days of the week, feelings, and so much more. It is going to be a great opportunity for younger children to learn Spanish in a fun and unique way. The student workbook will now be available with this class. I will send out a promo code to parents that sign their child up for the class. Once you receive your promo code you can contact Julia Burnier directly and she will gather your information and send you the materials you need for this class.
Please message me if you have any other questions.
Learning Goals
Students will be learning basic conversational Spanish. The topics being taught will include: greetings, classroom objects, numbers, colors, parts of the face, parts of the body, adjectives, and feelings. This will be taught over an 8-week period. The objective of the first 8 weeks is to build a foundation for the students. The 2nd 8 weeks will be adding onto the vocabulary that they have already learned.

Bring your smile because we will have a lot of fun.

We will be doing a lot of drawing and coloring. It would be great if students had pencils, markers, crayons or colored pencils to use during class and for homework.

These are the workbook and songbook titles. The good thing is that the materials used for Part One will also be used for Part Two. I will be cutting this Y1A Student Workbook in to 2 separate sections to give the students and myself a little break before starting again.

Dear Parents,
My name is Arelis. I have been a teacher for over 10 years and taught all grades from Kindergarten through high school. I have taught a variety of different subjects but one of my favorite subjects to teach is Spanish. Teaching Spanish has given me the opportunity to share my culture with students. Both of my parents are from Puerto Rico. Growing up I had to learn both English and Spanish. Of course being born in the states I had to learn English so over the years my Spanish has suffered slightly, but teaching Spanish has really been helpful for me to sharpen my skills.
