Mad Libs: Learning Parts of Speech
What's included

US Grade 1 - 4
This class will cover parts of speech for students between 6-10 years of age. We will talk about the words that form sentences, why we use certain words, and what they mean. We will practice forming sentences and explain why or why not we use certain words, for example: the differences between past and present tense. To wrap up, we will play with fun Mad Lib activities, and read our collective Mad Lib story as a class. Our class will work together to answer series of questions that are designed to help students understand how the English language is structured. We will also work as a team to brainstorm a creative and exciting Mad Lib scenario. Although this class is open to a variety of ages, I believe it is important to allow the students to not only learn from me, but to also learn from each other.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their vocabulary by working together to list parts of speech, and words for those categories. They will be able to identify parts of speech, use the definitions in sentences, and apply those parts of speech to Mad Lib activities.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! My name is Miss Bree, and I love to dance, read, and write! I have been teaching dance for about 8 years. My favorite styles to teach are jazz, ballet, tap, and hip hop. I have a Master's in Childhood Education with a specialization in English Creative Writing. I believe creativity is a very important aspect of teaching and learning. In my classes, I allow students to move freely with a splash of guidance. Watching students move with their own individual sparkle allows the class to shine as a whole!
