2-4 hours per week. Through this self-paced course, students will be given a recorded lesson along with additional activities and guides to help them get the most out of this course. Students are encouraged to complete as much of the additional homework as they can to get the most out of this course.Grading
The best way for me to give assessments is if students share their work with me in the form of photos posted to the class. I will provide feedback based on what I am able to see of their work through the photos. I can also recommend additional learning resources as needed.Class Experience
This class is perfect to take if you have mastered the basics of machine sewing such as straight stitch, needle control, foot pedal control, presser foot control & pivots. This class is designed for students who have already completed some smaller projects and are ready to dive into a more challenging yet gentle project. Using a slow yet steady process through the practice of machine sewing, students can create a beautiful final doll set that they can be proud of. Parents will need to be able to assist for parts of the lessons that will include cutting, ironing, and using needles yet parents do NOT need to have prior sewing knowledge to assist. You can see additional skills learned and practiced in the syllabus. This is a self-paced class that does NOT include live meetings with a teacher. I will present new content into the Outschool and interactive classroom for students to use and complete for the lessons on their own time. Lessons also include additional helpful mini-lessons showing how to use sewing notions, practice and patterns as applicable to the lesson. Although there are no live meetings with this class, I am always available for additional encouragements and check-ins and answering questions throughout the 5 weeks of the course in either typed or video format to help students feel supported through their sewing. I will also provide feedback on submitted photos and questions throughout the duration of the 5 week course and I will also be available throughout the duration of the course to answer questions or help with troubleshooting as needed. *By enrolling in my course, you are accessing content created by me personally including lessons, patterns, worksheets, and a virtual classroom experience. Please to not distribute these materials to anyone outside of our classroom.
Learning Goals
Students will progress from basic sewing skills to creating the included projects with their sewing machine. Students will gain confidence throughout the course and proudly display their work.

Parental Guidance
Parents should be available during the class to assist with potentially dangerous tools such as needles and iron. Younger students may require more help than others.
Supply List
A complete Shopping List and cut list will be made available immediately upon enrollment. They will be dropped into the virtual classroom NOT sent from me personally. Additional patterns will be distributed throughout the course as needed. Below is a general supply list outside of specific cuts. **When printing patterns, please do not "Fit to Page". You will also want to make sure to test the 1in square marker on each page for proper sizing. 1. **Sewing Machine (please do NOT plan on using a kid's sewing machine or toy or mini sewing machine - these tend to not be reliable and can create a lot of problems. They also have a completely different design than a standard machine.) Please have a STANDARD machine available for this class. Brother and Singer have excellent options for starter machines or I can provide recommendations if needed. 2. All-purpose thread (although I prefer 100% cotton thread to avoid issues) 3. Bobbins 4. Fabric Scissors (serrated works best) 5. Scrap cotton fabric for practicing 6. Seam ripper 7. Pins & Craft Clips 8. Iron & ironing board or mat 9. Elmers Glue STICK 10. Ruler 11. Cotton fabric (exact fabric amounts and cuts available after enrollment) 12. Hand needle 13. Water soluble marker or pen 14. Skinny Wooden Stick or Skewer 15. Sharpie PEN (must be a fine tip) 16. Small bag of Polyfill stuffing (we only need a tiny amount but this is fun to have around for projects! Students can also use a soft sock to stuff with)
