M & M Math (Subtraction With Regrouping) [Live Class]
In this one time class, students will practice or learn subtraction with regrouping using M&M candies.

Beginning with a song and dance, I will introduce/review the concept of subtraction with regrouping. Terminology such as: minuend, subtrahend, difference, regroup, place value, etc. will all be discussed. The students will then sort their M&M candies into color groups. I will read an excerpt of "More M&M's Math" by Barbara McGrath, before we create subtraction problems to solve using their M&Ms. (PDF printout provided before class). This is a great introduction into subtraction with regrouping, or simply a good review for anyone who needs it.
