Description
Class Experience
Using delicious M&M candies, children will have an opportunity to learn and practice preschool math concepts. Sorting, colors, counting, shapes, numbers, and patterning will all be learned and practiced using M&M's in both class sessions. Demonstrations and visuals will be used to help explain the concepts to students. Learners will have an opportunity to use their own M&M's to practice these math concepts with teacher support. The first session will focus on sorting, colors, and counting....
Students will be able to use M&M's to count to 10 with 90% accuracy. Students will demonstrate the relationship between quantity and numbers by counting out the M&M's. Students will describe which color of M&M has more, less, or the same with 90% accuracy. Students will create a simple pattern using M&M's. Students will extend a simple pattern using M&M's. Students will sort and classify M&M's by color with 90% accuracy. Students will use M&M's to correctly build a circle, triangle, square, and rectangle with 90% accuracy.
