M & M Math (Groups of- Multiplication) [Live Course]
In this one time class, students will practice or learn multiplication with groups of using M&M candies.

Beginning with a song and dance, I will introduce/review the concept of multiplication with groups of. Terminology such as: factor, product, groups of, place value, etc. will all be discussed. The students will then sort their M&M candies into color groups. I will read an excerpt of "More M&M's Math" by Barbara McGrath, before we create multiplication problems to solve using their M&Ms. (PDF printout provided before class). This is a great introduction into groups of multiplication, or simply a good review for anyone who needs it.
