Class Experience

M.C. Escher is one of the most undervalued artists of the 20th century. From his humble beginnings and life traveling he isn't widely recognized even in his own country of the Netherlands. Students will see well known and lesser-known works of art by Escher. Join me in this lecture-based class to learn more about the Op Art movement and what inspired Escher. We'll discuss what we see, how it's created, and connections to Escher's art in our modern world.

Learn about an art historical movement by focusing on the history of one of its artists, and the contributions he made to art and history.
