In this one time class we explore what a lunar eclipse is and how to view these special events. We will examine the relationship between the Earth, Moon, and the Sun and why their orbits periodically result in eclipses. We will investigate questions such as: Why do lunar eclipses happen? How often do they occur? What is a moon phase? Where can lunar eclipses be seen? How do they differ from solar eclipses? The class is lecture and discussion based. Learners will view and participate in a presentation full of images and some video. They will have the opportunity to ask questions and think critically about eclipses.
