In this one-time cultural series, we will learn all about the history of Mexican wrestling known as Lucha Libre! Luchadores (wrestlers) are very respected in Mexico. I am an experienced educator who has taught at nearly every level of instruction from pre-k to college level! My very first job out of high school was as a bilingual instructional aide for the Head Start program in my city. I currently teach undergraduate students who are preparing to become K-12 teachers.
No homework, however, Dr. Reina will provide an informational worksheet detailing the materials and instructions on how to make your own lucha mask at home!
Students should have crayons, colored pencils, or markers for the art extension portion of the class. Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Mexican Wrestling or Lucha Libre, does have some performative physical moves, but no serious violence will be shown in class.
