Kids will learn polka dance. Teacher uses very fun music - Finnish polka ("the Säkkijärvi polka"). It is a cardio dance; it is all about pointing feet, fast and sharp steps.
Class experience
Säkkijärven polkka ("the Säkkijärvi polka"), also called the "Karelian-Finnish Polka", is a well-known folk tune from Finland, very popular with Finnish accordionists.
Students will learn interesting facts about "Karelian-Finnish Polka", costumes; we will look at the European map and find Finland.
The structure of the class:
1. Talking about dance, costumes, geographical location of Finland
2. Warming up - traditional warming up exercise to prepare body to move
3. Learning steps and arm...Kids will learn "Karelian-Finnish Polka" and will be able to perform it for friends and family.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Kids would need some room to move safely. They should wear comfortable clothing for exercise
