Would you like your kids to move gracefully and have great posture? Ballet is a fundamental of dance, and its basic techniques will help kids advance in all the other styles like jazz, tap, and hip-hop. What are we going to do? Below are appropriate for the age syllabus of program. While we learn, we dance: I will be leading several dance compositions and at the end of the class basic "freeze" dance is replaced with the activity in which every student will have an opportunity to lead the group (children love to be the leaders:)). Floor Work • butterfly game: work on turning out legs • feet work: point and flex both, then alternate, then stretch forward with flexed feet, then again with pointed feet • straddle stretch sides and front • Mermaid stretch (swim legs and arms for 8, then push chest up to straighten arms) Center • Positions: arms, feet • Plies in first and second positions • Tendus from first to front, side and back • Releves in first and second positions • Demi rond de jambe • Grand battements across floor front only • Balancing exercise Jumps • Sautes • Echapes (first to second) • Passe walks & skips • Chasse with tummy facing the mirror & with right and left leg in front • Leap over something on the floor I love classical music and I believe early introduction promotes cognitive and aesthetic development. For example, I use "Carnival of Animals" by Camille Saint-Saens to explore energy, level, and tempo. How about jumping as a kangaroo, gliding as a fish in the water, walking as a heavy elephant - kids will have an opportunity to do it all in my class! It is "One-time" class, however students are welcome to come back to take this class again. Ballet technique is built upon repetition of the same steps for many times. Lessons are never the same. I use different music, I teach different dance compositions. THE FOLLOWING CLASSES ARE SUGGESTED TO BE TAKEN ALONG WITH THIS CLASS: "Flex Schedule" class - 6 Main Ballet Steps - 6 Weeks - 15 Minutes Exercise - Theory - Practice (Applicable for Dance-Gymnastics-Figure Skating) https://outschool.com/classes/6-main-ballet-steps-6-weeks-15-minutes-exercise-theory-practice-7sf11nOb#usdY6YBw0F "One Time" class - Ballet Gymnastics - Applicable for Gymnastics, Dance, Figure Skating - Health and Wellness https://outschool.com/classes/ballet-gymnastics-applicable-for-gymnastics-dance-figure-skating-health-and-wellness-1YnnRRTf#usdY6YBw0F In case you can not open ZOOM to sign in, please refer to the Helpline option "Can not access the class". I open classroom several minutes prior to the start of the class to make sure my system works and assist to parents within my abilities. Ones class started, I am busy teaching and all questions should be forwarded to the Helpline :)
Learning Goals
Would you like your kids to move more gracefully and have great posture? Ballet is the ABCDs of any dance style. If your kids love to dance jazz, tap, or hip-hop - they will need at least the basics of ballet technique to advance in other styles of the dance.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Dance exercise requires open safe space; comfortable clothing; ballet shoes are the best choice, if it is not available - non slippery socks or comfortable shoes. Kids should not be wearing long, many layered dresses, it will make their exercise difficult and uncomfortable.
I would need students to have a small soft toy which will be used as a prop during lesson.
Camera - I would need to be able to see students legs and arms for timely corrections.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

About Me
Welcome! I’m passionate about bringing the joy of dance to students of all ages. I specialize in teaching preschoolers, beginners, and intermediate ballet using the Vaganova method.
My Background
I graduated from the prestigious “Young Muscovites” dance school in Moscow, where I was fortunate to train under renowned instructors from the Bolshoi Ballet and other esteemed dance companies like Moiseev Ballet and Beryozka. After two years as a professional dancer with the Moscow State Circus Ballet, I pursued a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering at Moscow University, where I co-founded and coached the university’s dance group. I directed performances like “The Little Prince” and “Don Quixote,” nurturing my love for teaching.
In 1990, I relocated to the USA, where I discovered a vibrant dance community that allowed me to further refine my skills. My experience includes developing unique program for very young dancers, inclusive dance programs for students with special needs and creating classes for bilingual children.
When the world faced the challenges of COVID-19 in 2019, I pivoted to online teaching through the Outschool platform. Over the past four years, I've had the pleasure of guiding students from around the globe, helping them enhance their ballet skills and prepare for auditions—all from the comfort of their homes. My unique “Ballet Gymnastics” class, not commonly found in traditional schools, has empowered many students to excel
With generous permission of authors I am using the following music:
1. Songs written by Hap Palmer (great for various skills development)
2. Ballet class music performed by Jon Sarta, Nathan Fifield, Christopher Hobson
3. KIMBO EDUCATIONAL; songs from Rock 'N Roll Fitness Fun CD and All Time Favorite Dances
MY REFUND POLICY: I follow the Moderate Refund Policy. Once a month I can process a refund based on the special circumstances. I do offer dance classes which can be taken to make up for missed class: Character Dance, Floor Barre. There is an Outschool Happiness Guaranty program which families can address in certain cases.
Although my required amount of students for class is 2-3 students, I often run class for one. If you are considering to take my class, please introduce it to your friends and family.
Some students like to dress up for my classes. However, please make sure that kids wear clothing that is comfortable for exercise. Wearing many layered clothes like a ballroom dress may be challenging for children.
My ability to help with technical difficulties is limited especially once the class has started. If you are having challenges, please refer to the Helpline option "Cannot access the class."
