This course will expose students to some of the works of Robert Frost. Prior knowledge is not required. It will also bee a great learning opportunity for a learner already familiar with the poet. This will be formatted as an escape room. Students will be given clues to solve using poetry. The poems used will be "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening". Fire and Ice", "The Mending Wall", "Stars", "The Road not Taken". Students will have the option of reading the poems prior to class if they would like, but the poems are going to be included in the escape room content. Learners will learn about some literary devices, such as rhyme scheme, as well as metaphor. The students will have the option of working together as a class, or on teams, depending on how many learners enroll. It is an appropriate course for one learner or six learners. I will act as the clue giver, facilitator, and help students solve the clues to advance to the next slide. I will also be sharing information about the life of Robert Frost and his poetry. As we go, we will delve into the individual poems a bit, and discuss them. Students can collaborate with one and other or with me. I will help everyone advance through the escape room. There are a few video clips, as well as the poems themselves for the students to wok with. The end of the escape room results in an award for the learners where they can hear Frost narrate one of his most famous poems.
