This course consists of private German lessons and allows for more student-teacher interaction time! In this class, we will be learning the beginning grammar and vocabulary of the German language! I like showing video clips, recommending songs, and trying out tongue twisters, too! I'll encourage my students to begin using fuller sentences once we begin learning more words and phrases. I will encourage my students and give them helpful pointers in case they get nervous (I've been there, so I...
This class will help students expand their knowledge of the German language and German culture. We will begin each lesson with a grammar lesson, and then we will transition into a vocabulary lesson. This ensures that students are continually using both grammar and vocabulary so that they retain the information better. I will use the chat for notes, as well as videos and sometimes games to help assess conversation skills.
Every week, I will be posting a note sheet with the PowerPoints and supporting links for the students to complete by the next class. They will be graded, but students have as many opportunities to fix corrections to get 100%. Worksheets will be 10-15 questions and will use targeted vocabulary, along with involving what they have already learned. This aims to build on their knowledge.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners will receive a letter grade, but it will be loosely calculated because students have many opportunities to improve on worksheets. The important thing is that the students understand what they are learning; the letter grade mainly serves as motivation.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
