In this one time class the kids will learn the basic e wrap stitch in loomknitting. I will walk the kids step by step through how to loom knit a scrubbie. A scrubbie can be used to clean dishes, clean surfaces, or even used as a washcloth. I will show Gina Lay’s YouTube video that shows the pattern that is used to create the scrubbie. The kids will learn the e wrap stitch which is a basic stitch that they can use to make hats if they decide they love loom knitting. I run my classes like a loom knitting circle. I will walk the kids through how to create and scrubbie and then the kids will work at their own pace. We will all chat and socialize together. If the kids run into problems I will be there to help. I have been loom knitting for about two years now.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the basics of loom knitting. Learn about the loom and the hook that is used to create a scrubbie. They will learn the e wrap stitch. They will learn the pattern to create a scrubbie.
