Class Experience

In this 8-week course, students will have the ability to work one-on-one to practice their conversation skills. Together we will work on communications skills like pronunciation, language functions, grammar, high-frequency words, vocabulary, and sentences patterns all while practicing our free talk.

I will facilitate learning by providing knowledgeable stimulation through PowerPoint presentations. These presentations will include pictures and videos to allow for discussion, vocabulary words, a grammar section, sentence patterns, and more. Students will be provided with a Course Packet to print out and have ready for the class, this is where students will write down their new vocabulary words for each lesson and have a place to take notes if they would like. During the class I may also use primary sources, example props, asking questions, providing ethical and respectful options, and resources for further student inquiry. I will foster interactions between the student and content and myself.

Each week there will be a topic of interest:

Week 1: All About Me
Week 2: Interests and Hobbies
Week 3: Let's Go Traveling
Week 4: Exploring New Places
Week 5: Eating Customs
Week 6: Shopping
Week 7: In My Community
Week 8: Entertainment

Teacher expertise and credentials
In my class, I want to nurture self-pride and self-identity in each student’s linguistic and cultural heritage. I have been teaching ESL online since July 2018. I have been teaching advanced levels in writing and speaking. I have taught over 4,700+ classes to over 490 children living in China and Asia. I teach 1-on-1 online full immersion English language and content classes. I engage students using total physical response, clear annunciation, and appropriate expression. I try and simplify English immersion curriculum instruction to beginning learners and extend for advanced learners. I work with children ages 4 to 17 to develop English speaking, reading, and writing skills. I provide consistent feedback about students' progress and administer formal testing as needed.
