Look What I Made - Art for Little 4-6

The 8-week course introduces children to design elements through engaging lessons and simple art activities. Learners explore a new concept and create their artwork each week, fostering creativity and an appreciation for art.

Projects
1 hour per week. Children will create weekly projects that will reflect the concepts covered that week. We will have a final project that includes concepts covered in earlier classes.
Grading
I will make anecdotal observations on each student. Parents will be able to see notes upon request.

Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
This interactive course introduces children aged 4 through 6 to the essential elements of design through engaging lessons and simple art activities. Each week, learners will explore new concepts and create their own artwork, fostering their creativity and appreciation for art. I will create a safe environment where children can explore and take risks. I will model how to explore materials and express ourselves.

8 Lessons
over 4 Weeks
Lesson 1:
introduction to lines
 Students will be able to understand different types of lines and their uses in art

Exploring Shapes
 Students will recognize and draw basic shapes.

Introduction to color
 Students will understand both primary and secondary colors.

Fun with textures
 Students will explore different textures and how they can be represented in Art

Other Details

Learning Needs
Although this class is not designed for unique learners, it does support all students at their current level of development. The nature of art is exploration, and young students are encouraged to explore materials and pick what they create.
Parental Guidance
Parents need to exercise discretion regarding their child's ability to use tools (e.g., scissors) safely and appropriately.
Supply List
A suggested list of found materials -crayons, markers, colored pencils, construction paper, drawing paper, Scissors, glue, and tape. Water color paints. Various craft material (cotton balls,yarn, stickers, etc.)
