In this one-time course, students will explore the amazing phases of our moon. We will learn why phases happen and how we view them in the sky! We will create our own moon phase cycle out of Oreo cookies. Yum!

During this one-time lesson, we will spend time talking all about the phases of our moon! We will learn why these phases occur through a powerpoint lesson. Together, we will construct our own phases of the moon cycle out of Oreo cookies. We will study why the moon orbits and how it stays with Earth and does not float off into space. This class will be hands on and engaging! There is no experience required for this class! My hopes are that you have a love of space and learning about it when we finish! The supplies you will need include cookies (Oreos or any brand you have) and a tooth pick!
