In this one time class, students will learn to solve long division problems with one divisor using the partial quotient strategy and the tune of a popular Zombies song.

Class Experience

Does your student struggle with solving long division the regular way?  The partial quotient strategy is a different way to solve one divisor division problems that many students find easier to understand.  

After introductions, students will learn the parts of a long division problem. 

Then, students will learn the partial quotient strategy using the tune from a popular song from the Zombies movie.  We will practice using this tune several times so that students remember this...

Students will learn the parts of a long division problem.

Students will learn how to solve a long division problem with one divisor and up to a three-digit dividend using the partial quotient strategy.

Students should have a piece of paper and a pencil prior to class beginning.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
