US Grade 2 - 4
Beginner Level
I will teach students how to solve basic logic puzzles by using our reading comprehension skills, deductive reasoning, and the visual representation on a grid. In class, we will solve some BASIC logic puzzles together as a group. If your child has experience solving logic puzzles, this class may be too easy for them. This class is designed to demonstrate how to fill in the grid and interpret logic puzzle clues. I will ask for volunteers to read each clue (no one is required to read to the group). We then will discuss each clue and how it relates to the items in the grid. We must use our reading and listening comprehension skills to determine what each clue means. By learning how to solve basic logic puzzles, students can then advance to more complex logic puzzles. It is a fun, life-long hobby. I have a relaxed, fun teaching style. We will work as a group but participants can observe if they are not comfortable participating in the discussion.
Learning Goals
Students will use their reading and listening comprehention skills to analyze clues. We will also practice logical thinking to solve the puzzles.
