Class Experience

There are so many places hiring his summer!

In this one-time class, students will learn the steps they will need to take in order to acquire a summer job- or any job outside of summer as well through slides, and a step-by-step tutorial of actual websites or paper applications of places that you want to apply to.
Students will learn what a typical application looks like, and all of the materials that they will need for the application process, and when it is appropriate to submit a resume'.
We will go over typical interview questions, and attire, while also discussing when it is appropriate to call and 'check on their application' after they have submitted it.
Students will interact on what challenges that have faced, or are currently facing that may be holding them back from getting a job of their very own. Students will also get a chance to request help where we can directly visit the place they want to apply together and walk through where to find all of the information for applying, and if it is necessary to apply in person.

I am looking forward to helping you get a job of your very own!

ABOUT ME
Welcome to Outschool! My name is Ms. Danielle. My favorite hobbies are horseback riding, gardening, and going hiking with my dog! I love to be outdoors as much as I can!

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
I come to Outschool as a Licensed Teacher in Wisconsin, Wyoming & Illinois with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Chicago, IL. I have lived in different states and traveled all over the country. In my professional background, I have 15 total years teaching and 5 of those in a public classroom. I have taught a variety of grade levels from Preschool through 12th grade, including special education. Aside from Outschool, I teach Early Childhood Special Education, ESL online, and I tutor students 1:1 online as well. I have worked with children my whole life, growing up in a child care setting and starting my own childcare business at age 18. I have taught crafting classes as a side gig to adults and children to make signs such as 'string art', and I have also volunteered in Therapeutic Horseback Riding to care for and lead the horses while also learning to assist and instruct the riders with special needs in their experience. I have been able to experience teaching in different cultures across the country, as I have traveled often and lived in different areas. I have found my passion by being able to watch children thrive in a particular environment, one they are comfortable and confident in. Watching them learn and begin to understand how to do something for the very first time is an emotional experience.

MY BELIEFS
I believe children learn best through cooperative learning and hands-on learning experiences that stimulate and activate student engagement and confidence. All children deserve to be in a consistent, safe, and warm environment where they are able to not only express their individuality, but where they are also able to embrace the differences of those around them.

MY CLASSES
I offer high energy and fun classes to children and teens of all ages. For children in Preschool to Kindergarten, I teach anything relating to the alphabet and beginning literacy skills, such as letter recognition, letter formation, and phonemic awareness. For children or teens who love animals, I teach all about horses, dogs, and animals on the farm and what it takes to own an animal like this. My students even get to engage with life experiences involving my animals, and yes even a real horse LIVE! I also can teach crafty classes where students will get to work with real tools (with parental consent) and make signs such as string art! I offer any of my classes as a whole group, small group or even a one-on-one lesson by request. If you're in need of tutoring, I teach one-on-one tutoring for writing Essays or learning study skills and organization for Middle school to High school students.

Take a look at all of the classes that I have to offer and find one that will spark your interest, or one that you will benefit from. I look forward to seeing you in one of my classes very soon!
