This class is part of my Contemporary Artist Series, in which we learn about artists from the mid-20th century to today, analyze their art style and subject, and make a creation inspired by their art. Week 1: We will study who Romero Britto is, his contribution to art, and his art style, and begin using the elements of art to draw a picture inspired by his work. Week 1Lesson 1Introduction to Romero Britto; Begin the DrawingWe will study who Romero Britto is, his contribution to art, and his art style, and begin using the elements of art to draw a picture inspired by his work. We will outline it with a Sharpie and then paint the sections with watercolor paint. The painting must be completed and dry for session 2.Week 2Lesson 2Finishing the ArtWe will practice patterns, and apply patterns to our finished paintings using markers. At the end of class, we will share our creations in a class critique, and offer positive feedback to each other.
Students will learn about contemporary artist Romero Britto and his contribution to art. Students will learn how to add color and pattern to their paintings.

Pencils, eraser, pencil sharpener paper or sketchbook for practice heavy drawing paper, Bristol board or watercolor paper (80# or heavier is perfect!) watercolor paints Crayola markers OR colored Sharpies Black Sharpies in fine point (regular size) and/or chisel point (the large, flat ones)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
