In this one-time class, students will learn simple ways to draw birds in the Kawaii style, and complete 3-5 recognizable birds.

Beginner Level
Through the guided drawing process, students will learn how to use simple lines and shapes to create well-known wild and domestic birds in Kawaii style. We will explore the origin of Kawaii style, how it became popular in Japan and spread to the US. My teaching style involves breaking the process down into smaller, easy-to-follow steps. As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
Students will need: Paper (drawing paper is great; sketchbook, or even printer paper will work! Pencil, eraser, pencil sharpener Black Sharpie Choice of coloring tools: colored pencils, crayons, watercolor pencils, or markers.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
