LIVE Online Art Class: Kawaii Cuteness Birds
In this one-time class, students will learn simple ways to draw birds in the Kawaii style, and complete 3-5 recognizable birds.

Beginner Level
Through the guided drawing process, students will learn how to use simple lines and shapes to create well-known wild and domestic birds in Kawaii style. We will explore the origin of Kawaii style, how it became popular in Japan and spread to the US. My teaching style involves breaking the process down into smaller, easy-to-follow steps. I pace the class according to the needs of the students; if needed, I give fast finishers a break, allowing students who need more time to complete their work, the time to do so, and even then, finishing before class ends is NOT the objective. Students may or may not complete between three and five birds. My classes are intended to be fun, informative, and a safe place to take artistic risks and make mistakes--that is experimentation, which artists do all the time! At the end of class, students will be invited to share their creations no matter what their progress is.

Students will need: Paper (drawing paper is great; sketchbook, or even printer paper will work! Pencil, eraser, pencil sharpener Black Sharpie Choice of coloring tools: colored pencils, crayons, watercolor pencils, or markers.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
