US Grade 5 - 7
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this one-time class, we will review the secondary colors (orange, purple and green), and how they can be used to create a painting of a pumpkin from a unique perspective. We will draw a pumpkin in a corner of the canvas/canvas panel, paint the background purple, the pumpkin orange, and the stem green. By using purples in the green and orange areas, we can create shadows and dimension (adding yellow for highlighted areas). Because students work at varied paces, artwork may or may not be finished before class ends. Students who finish after class has ended are encouraged to photograph and upload their creations into the classroom!

As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing and painting lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
