In this one-time class, students will discuss and draw a gingerbread house complete with different candies, frosting "snow," and other details of their choice.

Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this fun, seasonal-inspired class, students will discuss different types of candies and sweets that might be used in building a gingerbread house, then guided in how to draw a simple house shape. Students will make choices as to how they wish to decorate their drawing (what kinds of sweets and candies they will draw), then outline with a Sharpie, color with colored pencil, and either color or paint the background. As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
Paper (heavy or watercolor paper is recommended if the student wishes to paint the background or any other part of the drawing) pencil, eraser, pencil sharpener Colored Pencils (crayons or markers are an option as well) Sharpie for outlining drawing Watercolor paint, water bowl and brush (optional for background OR gingerbread house)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
