LIVE Online Art Class: Draw a Realistic Tree
Class experience
US Grade 4 - 7
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this step-by-step class, we will cover basic line drawing technique, creating a tree, literally, from the ground up, splitting the lines into branches, and adding shading/texture. I like to give my students simple steps, encouragement, positive feedback, and plenty of time to work on their art. My classes are about the process and the experience, not the finished product. Often we don't finish the project before class ends, and when this is the case, I encourage my learners to take a photo...
As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
Students will need paper, pencils and an eraser. Images of trees, or the ability to sit near a tree are helpful, but not necessary.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
