In this one-time class, students will learn to draw a detailed hummingbird using simple shapes.

**PLEASE NOTE** Occasionally, I run a class with fewer than 3 students. When I do, the class often runs shorter than the amount of time listed, due to the fact that less time is used with introductions, or with differing abilities and processing speeds in different students. The content is exactly the same, and in fact, can be considered a bargain for a private class. Using my guided drawing process, students will use simple lines, shapes and patterns to create their own stunning...
As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
Images of hummingbirds (a google image search will bring LOTS of choices!) Print favorites, if possible. Good quality, 80# or higher drawing paper, or Bristol Board. Canson and Strathmore tablets are great, and can be purchased at Michaels where they are often on sale. 9X12 or 11X14 are good sizes. Pencils, sharpener, eraser Colored pencils or crayons (or both) black Sharpie watercolor paint, brush and water (optional)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
