*PRIOR EXPERIENCE drawing anime is strongly encouraged. I recommend students either know how to draw anime faces, or take my Anime Self Portrait class prior to this one, OR they can draw the mermaid and NOT worry about whether the face is in Anime style. Learners will be guided through the process of drawing a mermaid and choosing the style of hair, fish tail, fins, accessories, and colors they want to use in their mermaid drawing. Simple steps for drawing the human head, torso and arms in different positions will be discussed, as well as how to make the mermaid look like she is swimming or floating in the ocean. More details can be added, such as aquatic animals, sunken treasure, etc., at the student's discretion.

As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
