Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this ongoing class, students will meet with me three times a week for a duration of 3 weeks, or until they have mastered the math facts or choose to unsubscribe. If you are transitioning from my "One-Time Class," this ongoing class will offer a more gradual approach. It is designed to break down multiplication tables into manageable segments to enhance retention. We will be practicing multiplication facts through various engaging methods, including tricks, games, and fostering a positive attitude toward math.

While skip counting through songs can be a helpful introduction, I've observed that many students struggle to move beyond it when memorizing the actual facts. They often revert to skip counting, saying things like, "It's so hard NOT to skip count now." To address this, we focus on drilling math facts in a fun and interactive way, which helps improve retention and makes learning enjoyable.

The techniques I use have proven to be effective, helping students overcome their fear of multiplication and build a positive relationship with math. Mastering multiplication facts is crucial for a solid math education, and making the process enjoyable can accelerate this learning curve.

I intentionally keep my classes small to provide personalized attention and address each student's unique challenges. This approach has consistently led to noticeable progress, with most students mastering or coming close to mastering their facts by the end of the 3 weeks. However, every student is different.

So, come join us and let’s have multiples of fun while mastering multiplication together!

Please note that the week of the 7th we will not be having class (Thursday) as usual as my family has a school event scheduled. However, we will be doing this 3rd session for that week on Friday the 11th instead. So just for the week of the 7th we will have class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Please check your schedule so that you may plan accordingly.

Thank you so much for understanding and I apologize for any inconvenience.

This class will meet 3 times a week. The course contains 9 lessons, however students are welcome to join at any time as a class does not build upon the next.

PREREQUISITES: This is not an introduction to multiplication, rather, we focus on learning for retention/memorization, speed, and relationship between them. Students should know how to add and subtract well prior to taking a multiplication class.
However, I don’t discourage young learners from jumping in and testing the class as they always get something out of the class and could set them up for success in the near future. Many young learners have surprised me.

PLEASE NOTE: It is best if students log in through a computer instead of a phone/Tablet when possible as it makes it easier for students to plug in the answers in the chat box when asked to.

Hope to see your little one inside! :)

Hello!

I’m thrilled to have you here! My name is Mrs. Dayanis, and I’m the proud mom of two wonderful little girls. Fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, I’ve developed a deep passion for studying and teaching languages over the years. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida and bring over 12 years of experience in the dental field.

After my first daughter was born, I felt a strong calling to homeschooling, and it’s been a rewarding journey ever since. With 7 years of experience as a homeschool mom and teacher within our community, I’ve discovered a profound love for teaching that I never anticipated. I’ve had the joy of teaching a wide array of subjects, including History, Science, Language Arts, Math, Latin, Geography, Spanish, Art, and Music Appreciation. The more I explore these subjects with my children, the more eager I am to learn and share knowledge with young learners.

In my classroom, safety is my top priority. You might wonder, “Safety?” Yes, indeed! I aim to create an environment where students feel secure, allowing them to be themselves without fear of judgment or criticism when facing challenges. Building self-esteem is crucial to the learning process, and I believe fostering a student’s confidence is essential for their success. That’s why I keep my classes small—to be attentive to each student and connect the material with positive experiences, making learning enjoyable.

I particularly enjoy teaching subjects like Math, especially multiplication. There’s something incredibly satisfying about helping students uncover the patterns and possibilities within numbers. Seeing their excitement grow as they master multiplication and realize its power is truly rewarding. It would be a privilege to guide you and your family through this journey, making math both enjoyable and engaging. I believe that learning math should be a fun experience because discovering the beauty of numbers is an exciting adventure, and sharing that enthusiasm with young learners is a wonderful opportunity..

I look forward to meeting you and your child!

Mrs. Dayanis
