Class Experience
Do you know the science behind how flowers bloom in the spring? In this interdisciplinary art activity, students will get the chance to create their own paper flowers that will blossom when placed in a bowl of water - as if by magic! A beautiful blend of biology and art that will get kids thinking and experimenting with absorption, osmosis, and other wonders of the natural world. This class is facilitated by a professional artist, illustrator, and educator. Our faculty have impressive credentials and versatile backgrounds in academia, visual and performing arts, technology arts, health and wellness, fitness, and many more. Supplies Needed - White paper. Option to experiment with different types and thicknesses of paper... e.g tissue paper, printer paper, cardstock. - Water-soluble markers - Optional: non-soluble drawing implement (oil pastels, wax crayons, or permanent markers) - Scissors - Pencil and eraser - Shallow bowl or container of water - Ruler - Something round to trace a circle (glass, cup, etc.)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parental Guidance is required for the use of scissors.
