Description
Class Experience
Little Yogis will be introduced to different Yoga Principles each Sunday, learn a different simple breathing technique each Sunday, build confidence, strengthen and flexibility through different yoga sequences & poses and feel the benefits of a guided relaxation. Most importantly, little yogis should have fun while cultivating a calm mind both on and off their yoga mats while increasing their strength and flexibility too!
My name is Maura. I have joined Outschool to teach children's yoga and mindfulness classes. I received my ISHTA yoga certification under Yogiraj Alan Finger in New York City. ISHTA yoga blends the ancient and contemporary sciences of Hatha, Tantra and Ayurveda. I then deepened my holistic education at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. I am passionate about the mind/body connections. I have been teaching yoga at The Williams School in Norforlk, VA to school aged students. I really enjoy teaching little yogis the benefits of yoga and seeing their enthusiasm grow with each class. I want to continue teaching yoga to children from the comfort of their very own homes. My classes will focus each day on a different yoga principle (eg. practicing peacefulness, honesty, generosity, etc.), a playful vinyasa yoga sequence, simple breathing exercises, and a guided relaxation. My hope is to help little yogis cultivate a calm mind both on and off their yoga mats while increasing their strength and flexibility too!

Parents as well as yogis should be aware that this is a yoga class so there is a chance of potential hazards. These hazards can be greatly reduced by having an open workout space free from clutter, wearing slip-proof socks or practicing in bare feet if area of practice is free of hazard, a water bottle to ensure proper hydration, and proper clothing for yoga practice which should allow the yogi to be able to move freely without restriction.
