In this introductory writing class, we will draw a picture together and brainstorm words to describe our picture and come up with a title.

Class experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Students will learn from the writing section of the rubric that a sentence starts with a capital letter and ends with a punctuation mark. 
They will also learn the importance of spacing between the words. 
In the drawing section of the rubric, students will learn how to start with a simple picture and add details to it. 
Students will learn that we can make up a title or sentence to describe our picture. 
Students will look at the drawing part of the rubric to see examples of details that can be added to a picture to make it more interesting and tell a story. 
1. Notebook or a piece of paper to draw
2. Markers to draw with (These show up more when sharing online.)
3. Choose one or more: Crayons/ Markers/Colored pencils to color with
