Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in English from American Military University
Hello! I have been teaching and tutoring children from ages 2-24 for over 11 years now, at least four of which have been primarily with both the special needs and the autistic population. I have taught a large amount of subjects and materials locally and online, in small group settings, large classroom settings, at a charter school, at traditional schools, and at multiple Montessori schools as well.
I have a BA in Literature and Creative Writing from American Military University, where I graduated with honors in the top 1% of my class in May 2010. I also have training in ABA as well.
I am highly energetic and positive, and I make it my aim to always teach with kindness, courtesy, and respect, modeling the behaviors I hope to see and receive back from my students. I teach to each individual student on their own personal level and make learning fun by being adaptable, personal, and positive at all times.
I teach various types of art, creative writing, mathematics, cooking classes, life skills, study skills, fitness classes, rebounding (mini trampoline) classes, book club, study/test prep, healthy habits, the history of essential oils, practical life, one-on-one or small group tutoring, and more. I am also open to any suggestions or requests that anyone has as well.
I LOVE cats and I have three that you will hear me talk about and that also try to get involved in my classes sometimes, too! My family and I also enjoy hiking, swimming, riding bikes, camping, and fishing.
