It's always the perfect time for a road trip! Why take a road trip in a car when you can take a hot air balloon? Come fly with me! Pack your bags, and get ready for the ultimate hot air balloon adventure. In this 6 week geography camp, students will get to take a hot air balloon ride to a new mystery destination each and every week. They will learn about different states as we travel around the United States of America. We will go through a slideshow as if we are on a hot air balloon landing at a new destination each week. Students will be sent a one page handout that they can complete during class. This handout will contain clues that will help them guess which state we will be learning about for that specific week. Students will learn what makes each state unique and special. Some of what they will learn each week include: state flag, state animal, state bird, state nickname, capital, and exciting landmarks. We will get to discover some hidden gems in each state. We will go on adventures, and learn fun facts. Students will also be sent a blank map of the United States so they can color in each state as we learn about it. The slideshow presented during class is filled with many photographs and videos to keep the students engaged throughout. This class is full of fun to help your children retain what they are learning. I'm excited for a new adventure each week. We will be meeting once a week. No prior knowledge is necessary. Each week will be a different state, but it will not be announced to the children ahead of time. Part of the fun is having children use the clues to guess which state we are visiting. :) Our road trip will be to the following states (***Please do NOT share the states ahead of time with the students as part of the fun is having them guess** :)) Week 1: Montana Week 2: South Carolina Week 3: New Mexico Week 4: Alaska Week 5: Colorado Week 6: Idaho

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Liberty University
Hello everyone. My name is Tyler, and I have been teaching for over 12 years. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Psychology. I taught preschool for many years, I homeschool my own children, and I have been teaching online for several years. I have a passion for learning as well as teaching. I am a very patient teacher. I want each child to know how special they are. When they have that confidence, they will succeed.
I have three daughters, and know that children learn best when they are having FUN. I like to keep my lessons fun and interactive. My favorite part of teaching is connecting with the students and watching them grow and learn over time. I want children to look forward to my classes and always feel comfortable. I am very upbeat and patient. I was a very shy child, and one of my daughters is the same. I want every child to feel comfortable, and never worry that I will put them on the spot.
One of my favorite things to do, when I am not teaching, is to travel. I love traveling all over the world and immersing myself in different cultures. That is why geography is my favorite subject to teach. My classes are full of fun, movement, and adventure. I try to always make it an adventure so that children are excited to learn. I love to learn, and continue to educate myself daily so that I can also educate others. My family and I are very active and love to be outside. We live on our little 6 acre farm, and enjoy having the room to run and play. Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me. Please let me know any questions that you have, and I would be more than happy to talk with you.
I'm excited to meet your little ones.
