Class Experience

Students will develop a curiosity about world history and culture through learning about some famous historical sites in Greece.
I have a passion for travel, culture, and languages. I have lived in three different countries, and have traveled to more than 20 countries in total, including 9 countries in Europe. Last winter I spent two months living in Greece. Travel has by far been the biggest eye opener and learning experience in my life, and I realize how important it is that the next generation be able to understand different cultures. International trade and global connections make it so important to learn about the world, and remain open minded.
Students will learn how to complete a craft. They will need to complete the craft on their own for homework each week.
Week 1 (Materials needed to complete homework): 10 toilet paper rolls, glue, markers or paint, cardboard sheet, cardboard or paper, scissors. Week 2 (Materials needed to complete homework): green construction paper, glue/ tape/ staples, scissors. Week 3 (Materials needed to complete homework): pencil, clay. Week 4 (Materials needed to complete homework): cardboard, markers or paint.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We will be talking about Ancient Greek life. This may include battles, politics, and Greek mythology (gods, goddesses, beliefs, and practices).
