In this class we will learn about three different cliff top castles or monasteries that exist in Europe. We will learn about the history of each place. We will play a game every class and students will have an assignment that they can do after the lesson is complete to help them connect with the class topic. Students will participate in discussion. Week 1: The Cinderella Castle in Germany (King Ludwig Castle) Explore the castle that inspired Disney's Cinderella Castle, and learn the history behind it. Week 2: The Cathar Castles in France Explore the Cathar Castles in France that dot the southern country side. Learn how these cliff top castles were used to communicate from afar. Week 3: Meteora in Greece Learn why these cliff top monasteries were built in the alien landscape of the meteora rock formations. Explore how the materials were lifted such great heights to create incredible perching monasteries.

Students will learn about history through virtual travel and exploration.

Parental Guidance
We will be talking about European history which at times can include topics of war and weaponry (mostly sword use.) These topics will be included at an age appropriate level. If you have any questions about any of these topics please send me a message.
