Little Songbirds Music Class With a Certified Music Teacher (FLEX)
What's included
Homework
1 hour per week. Families should be prepared to help students create/post a response to the weekly challenge. These will be a simple way for the learner to respond. It will give them the opportunity to synthesize information from the week's lesson, and extend on their knowledge and musical connections to the songs we are singing.Class Experience
*Please Note: This is a flexible schedule class. No live meetings will take place. You can utilize the classroom to re-watch lessons, and complete activities! Each week, the teacher will create a new video lesson for the learner to sing, play, move, and interact with! Some weeks, we may use stuffed animals, movement scarves, or toy balls. These are not necessary, but feel free to use them if they are available to you. The themes/focus learning goals for each week will be as follows: Week 1- The learner will practice listening, moving to, and identifying "fast/slow," sounds in music and real life. Week 2- The learner will be able to practice listening, moving to, and identifying "loud/quiet," sounds in music and real life. Week 3-The learner will be able to practice listening, moving to, and identifying "high/low," sounds in music and real life. Week 4- The learner will be able to practice listening, moving to, and identifying "short/long," sounds in music and real life. In week 4, I will also include some of the favorite songs and games from the previous lessons. Please share what your learner's favorite songs and games are throughout the course by utilizing the classroom posts. Interaction: As I value the interaction amongst learners and the teacher, I will utilize the classroom to post challenges and games pertaining to the songs we are learning each week. For example: If we learn a song about a "duck," I may ask you to draw a picture of the duck from our song and post it in the classroom, or create a video where you sing the same song using the name of another animal! The teacher, and other learners, will have the opportunity to give feedback and praise using the classroom discussion function.
Learning Goals
Learners will be able to identify musical opposites by listening, speaking, and moving. Learners and their families will utilize the Outschool classroom to respond to simple challenges based on the songs we are learning for that week.
