Class Experience

Each week/meeting has their own materials needed. Below you can find an individual list for each week in preparation for our meetings. --------------------------------------------- 👻 Monday - Dancing Frankenworms 💣 - Baking soda - Corn starch - Vinegar - Zip-seal bags (sandwich bags) - Food coloring - Black marker (sharpies work best) - Toilet paper or paper towel --------------------------------------------- 🍬 Tuesday - Dissolving Candy Pumpkins 🎃 - 6 Clear cups - Milk - Water (hot & cold) - Oil - Vinegar - A learners choice of liquid - Candy Pumpkins or Candy Corn (which ever is easiest to find) - Spoon - Tray --------------------------------------------- Wednesday - Hocus Pocus Slime Potion - 1/2 cup Elmer’s Washable White School Glue - 1 tbs Saline Solution - 2 tbs Baking Soda - 1/4 cup White Vinegar - Food Coloring (green or any Halloween colors you want!) - Small Cauldron or Container (for mixing slime) - Small Cup (for mixing vinegar and saline) - Cookie or Craft Tray - Creepy Crawlies (Halloween toys to add...optional) --------------------------------------------- 🎃 Thursday - Erupting Pumpkins 🎃 - 1 cup of Hydrogen peroxide (6% or greater) - Two packet of dry yeast (one packet is approximately 1/4 oz) - 6 Tablespoons warm water - food coloring - A cylinder (at least 500 ml) or you can use a flask that fits your liquid - 2 tablespoons of dish soap (any will do) - A Pumpkin carved into a Jack O’ Lantern (be sure to clean the pumpkin prior to class). Simple eyes, mouth and nose are great so the foam can go through easily. (Large pumpkin) - A funnel - Safety goggles
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Each week will be different in terms of experiments and what is used, but it is important for learners to have an adult near by for assistance.
