Class Experience

Learners will improve their understanding of various science concepts through hands-on learning. 
Below is the supply list needed for four weeks at a time and will updated each week for better preparation. -------------JANUARY EXPERIMENTS------------- 🫠 (January 30th - February 3rd) - Melting Snowman ⛄️ - 1-2 boxes baking soda (depending on the size of snowman you want to melt) - Vinegar - Water - Glitter (optional, but magical as the snowman melts) - Food coloring (we used blue, but this is optional) - Bowl and spoon to mix it up - Container to put in the freezer - Squirt bottle, eyedropper, or baster - Snowman decorations (optional...pre-cut yarn for scarf, googly eyes, a tiny carrot cut for nose) -------------FEBRUARY EXPERIMENTS------------- πŸ₯Ά (February 6th - 10th) - Frozen Lava Lamp 🧊 - Ice cube tray (You will need to mix water and food coloring the night before to allow your water to freeze completely) - Vegetable oil - Food coloring (water-based) - Tall clear container or mason jar - Water - Spoon β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” πŸͺ„ (February 13th - 17th) - Magic Milk πŸ₯› - A pie dish - 1 cup of milk - Food color (more colors the better) - Liquid laundry detergent - Plenty of Q-tips β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” 🚢(February 20th - 24th) - Walking Water πŸ’§ - 5 clear glass (like mason jars) or plastic cups - Red, blue, and yellow food coloring - Scissors - 2 paper towels - Water - Spoon - Tray β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” 🌈 (February 27th - March 3rd) - Rainbow Rain Cloud 🌧 - Food Coloring - Mason Jar - Shaving Cream (White Foam not Gel) - Pipettes - Water - Small container
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Each week will be different in terms of experiments and what is used, but it is important for learners to have an adult near by for assistance.
