Class Experience

Whether your child is currently in Kindergarten or is getting ready to begin, reading is an essential skill that should be nourished from an early age. It is the foundation for everything else, and will open so many doors for your child. When a child is confident in reading, they will develop a love for it. My goal is to help your child become a confident reader. Each week, I will meet with your learner to help them develop their reading skills. We will start with simple phonics and progress to reading words and sentences on the screen. The content is similar to my private tutoring classes. The only difference is that, while each student will have many opportunities to interact, it is not individualized instruction. My classes will be based on a phonics-based approach to reading, and is very effective. I have taught my own children to read with this method, and continue to be amazed it. Here are some of the things we will be focused on: letter identification, individual letter sounds, blending to read CVC words, word families, and progressing to read short sentences.

Bachelor's Degree in Education from Liberty University
Hello everyone. My name is Tyler, and I have been teaching for over 12 years. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Psychology. I taught preschool for many years, I homeschool my own children, and I have been teaching online for several years. I have a passion for learning as well as teaching. I am a very patient teacher. I want each child to know how special they are. When they have that confidence, they will succeed.
I have three daughters, and know that children learn best when they are having FUN. I like to keep my lessons fun and interactive. My favorite part of teaching is connecting with the students and watching them grow and learn over time. I want children to look forward to my classes and always feel comfortable. I am very upbeat and patient. I was a very shy child, and one of my daughters is the same. I want every child to feel comfortable, and never worry that I will put them on the spot.
One of my favorite things to do, when I am not teaching, is to travel. I love traveling all over the world and immersing myself in different cultures. That is why geography is my favorite subject to teach. My classes are full of fun, movement, and adventure. I try to always make it an adventure so that children are excited to learn. I love to learn, and continue to educate myself daily so that I can also educate others. My family and I are very active and love to be outside. We live on our little 6 acre farm, and enjoy having the room to run and play. Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me. Please let me know any questions that you have, and I would be more than happy to talk with you.
I'm excited to meet your little ones.
