Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I was a bilingual (Chinese - English) preschool teacher and a mom to my 7 year old son. I have taught 2.5 - 5.5 year old children for 3 years before deciding to stay home with my son for his virtual schooling due to the pandemic. Before becoming a preschool teacher, I was a Program Coordinator for a Chinese after school program (K-5) for 5 years.

I was raised as a trilingual (Indonesian, English, and Chinese) child and I believe that children raised with at least two language will benefit in life. Therefore, I am passionate about teaching children at least two languages (Chinese - English or Indonesian - English) at an early age especially during the Golden Period of 2 - 4 years of age. Teaching two languages to young children will be in different format from teaching older children. I will include songs, hands-on activities for their fine motor skills development, movements for their gross motor skills development, arts, language arts, math, etc.

This class will be in a circle time format for your young child and will be conducted in both Chinese and English. I will switch back and forth between the two languages. If your child do not speak Chinese or English yet, he / she will be fine. I will translate for them as needed. Remember, their brain is like a sponge right now! They will absorb fast!
