Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
This class is for those students who have had a few beginner piano lessons already or who have finished Little Musicians Beginner Piano Lesson Course 1 Check the summary of what will be covered each week below to ensure your learner has not learned this content already.

Each week, I will present my prerecorded videos and provide a song and worksheet you will need to download.

If students would like, they can share their worksheet as well as their performance on the piano/keyboard with the class by the end of each week by uploading a video to our classroom on Outschool so that fellow students and I can give positive feedback in the classroom to give a sense of community in the classroom. In addition to becoming a young musician performing on the piano/keyboard, it is my hope for all the students to appreciate all their fellow students" hard work, encourage each other, and gain confidence in their own abilities to perform on the piano.

Since this is a flex class, there are no live meetings; however, I am available to answer your questions any time during the 8 weeks of class! Also, having the prerecorded video allows you to replay parts of the video at any time, for extra help as needed :).

By the end of the class, each student will be able to perform 4 songs on the piano/keyboard along with a solid foundation of locating all the notes on the piano, rhythm notation, reading 9 musical notes, and knowing the difference between sharps versus flats. At the end of our time together, I will provide a digital certificate of completion that you can print out and proudly display!

Students following this program will learn the following main items:

Week 1
• Finger Exercises and a Fun Song to help with Hand Position (one of the hardest parts to master for little fingers)

• Learn the difference between treble and bass clefs
• Learn new bass clef notes (C - G) and locate these notes on the piano
