Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
Students may have specific games or activities requested as homework from week to week. Typically, they are games or activities found in the book to be played with family members. This is not required, but only recommended to help reinforce what was taught during the class.
We will use the Wunderkeys piano method books, beginning with Preschool Book 1. This can be found on Amazon by clicking on the link below: https://www.amazon.com/WunderKeys-Piano-Preschoolers-Book-2nd/dp/1542354978/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=wunderkeys+preschool&qid=1626884541&sr=8-1 Recommended supplies include: - dice - erasers/pom poms to play the games at home during 'homework' time - pencil
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessment for this ongoing class is informal. All work and activities are learner directed by ability and done together with the teacher. A certificate of completion is awarded at the end of each method book.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please be near student during the class, as they may need your help turning pages, completing an activity, or just to enjoy music together. You will need a physical keyboard or piano, though nothing fancy is required! I also utilize Nearpod during lessons. This allows students to have interactive features during virtual lessons such as matching games, memory games, and drawing on the screen to help complete patterns, count, and draw numbers. A link will be provided in the classroom each week before class begins. You will need to download Nearpod on a device or go to Nearpod.com to utilize this resource. Click on the link posted in the classroom to take you to the lesson.
