In this one month course learners will focus on learning and identifying their letters, numbers, colors, and shapes. We will focus on the letters Q-T and will practice the numbers 11-14. Learners will also focus on identifying ovals and the color blue. We will have two themes for the month of January; Penguins and Polar Bears. We will explore life cycles, structures, behavior and adaptations for living in cold weather. Learners will be introduced to art, science, language arts, and math...
Learners will be introduced to and practice the letters Q-T, numbers 11-14, ovals, the color blue, penguins, and polar bears. We will practice the calendar each meeting, and I will help students develop manners and practices for learning in an online setting. Learners will practice writing their names at home and in class. We also review letter sounds and sight words which prepare them for reading.
I have taught children from PreK - 12 for 17 years. I love to focus on early learning. I teach core subjects but love to add in science, art, music, and fun!
Worksheets are sent home during the week for them to practice.
Specific Materials and Worksheets will be sent out weekly to learners a few days before that week begins. General Supplies include: Pencils, Sharpener, Glue Sticks, Crayons, Student Scissors, a printer for worksheets. Suggested Materials: Play-Doh, Counters (like cubes or even items like pom-poms or beans), Dot Markers.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learner assessment will be informal. This class is designed to be a fun introduction to letters, numbers, beginning phonics, and to prepare students to enter Kindergarten.
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Learners will practice their cutting skills. Safety scissors are recommended.
