Passionate about writing? Or are you looking to cultivate a passion for writing in your young learner? Join our class where students can collaborate, build upon their pre-existing skills, and develop a love for the art of writing. If you like the looks of this class, please also check out my ongoing sequential writing class for little learners.

We will begin by introducing ourselves and writing our name at the top of our paper. Each week we will preview a book or idea to help students to hone in on their writing skills specifically for opinion writing.  After the subject for class is shared, students will discuss whether they agree or disagree with the case presented. Learners can use the sentence frames provided to write a sentence(s), or a few words, stating their opinion. Those who are more adept at writing can support it with reasons and finally reaffirm the reader by stating their opinion again at the end. If there is time we will draw a picture to accompany our writing. We will conclude our lesson by sharing our work! Students of all writing abilities are welcome. And don’t worry about spelling! Even pseudo letters and pictures are a great start here. (:

Week of April 28th- May 4th:

Materials needed: 
-paper (lined or not! Though lined will help to keep our sentences aligned.) 
-a writing utensil (pencils preferred)

If there are zero learners enrolled in a class 24 hours before the start time the class is then presumed canceled.

Cancellation policy: As an ongoing class, learner subscriptions are charged on a weekly basis. If a learner is going to miss class please stop the subscription by the Saturday before to ensure you aren't charged. A refund will not be issued otherwise.
