Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
The aim of Little Jammers is for students to work on playing an instrument (or whatever you have around the house!), together as a group while learning how to play on a steady beat, and some "singing"/ reciting song lyrics.
This class is taught by Zach Seckman, owner and lead instructor:

Zach Seckman has been teaching music since 2011. Throughout his career, Zach has taught 300+ students on Piano, Ukulele, Drums and Percussion, Voice, and Guitar. After receiving his Bachelor of Music Education from Kansas State, he set-up shop and started his own private teaching studio. Seckman currently teaches both in-person and online music classes and lessons in his school in Kansas. Aside from teaching, Zach also writes music for solos, ensembles, and has published methods for Music Theory, Piano, and Percussion.
Students will only need something that is like an instrument, if they don't already have one they can play. As mentioned above, instruments can be pots and pans, wooden spoons, pillows, pens and pencils. or your own body!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please keep in mind that while we are using the melodies of folk songs and nursery rhymes, we have changed the words to these tunes. You may hear the tunes, but we are not singing or using the original lyrics. So we are only using the tunes for their musical value, not lyrics. These tunes include "This Old Man", "Jingle Bells", "London Bridge", and "Johnny Has a Hammer".

Parents are also welcome to sit off to the side to assist their learner if need be.
We will show slides of song lyrics, and instruments diagrams for students to look at and see during the class. Parents may request a copy of these slides if they wish to further work with their kids!
